Fred M. Vaught
Biography Summary
Fred M. Vaught is a retired business executive and dedicated community leader who has transitioned a 39-year career in financial planning into a lifelong mission of discipleship and philanthropy. Since 1975, he has shared his life and journey with his beloved wife, Kaye; together, they have three children and four grandchildren, residing in Valley Center, California, since 1990.
Professional Legacy
Fred’s career began in 1979 with premier institutions including New York Life, EF Hutton, and Bank of America. In 1984, he founded Capital Resource Management (CRM), serving as CEO and President until his retirement in 2018. CRM continues a legacy today serving families, institutions, businesses and nonprofits by helping them make smart choices about money stewarding it well to the Glory of God.

Philanthropy and Community Impact: Driven by a heart for the community, Fred founded along with likeminded businessmen, Legacy Endowment (The Community Foundation) in 1994, serving as a founding board member and Chairman. The organization remains a vital resource of North San Diego County, enhancing quality of life through charitable giving.
Faith and Discipleship: Following his professional retirement, Fred intensified his focus on spiritual formation. biblical worldview, stewardship and discipleship.
Colson Fellow: After completing the Colson Fellows Program in 2019, Fred was commissioned in Washington, D.C., focusing his mission on discipleship and stewardship.
Ron Blue Institute 9/23 Fellowship: The 9:23 Fellowship exists to develop individuals through personal discipleship and study, equipping them to live with greater surrender in both their financial and spiritual lives
Disciple Making: He is an active practitioner of disciple maker making disciple makers leading and facilitating within Disciple Making Communities (DMC) within Escondido, Valley Center and RJ Donavan State Prison.
Prison Ministry: Fred volunteer Prison Fellowship, teaching "Faith and Finances" at RJ Donovan Prison. Coach and mentor’s inmates with Pastors to Prisoners through the Freedom Initiative, empowering inmates to live out the Great Commission and Great Commandment.
Fred serves on the board of The Barnabas Group, a community of faithful servants dedicated to active stewardship and supporting Christian ministries.
